House rules

Welcome to Wolke 26! Your guest guide from Till & Bengt.

Great to have you here. This guide helps you find your feet quickly — so you have more time for the mountains.

House Rules

No smoking inside. The terrace is a much better spot anyway. Door between floors: Please keep the door between the ground floor and upper floor closed at all times — this keeps the heat downstairs.

Bio septic system: We have a biological septic system. Please only flush toilet paper — no wet wipes, tampons, sanitary pads or chemicals.

Heating The chalet is electrically heated. Tiled stove (hallway/ground floor): Open the door, light a small fire with thin wood, add larger logs, wait until there's plenty of embers, then close the door. Don't open it again — the embers heat the stove slowly and intensely. Fireplace (living room/upper floor): Start with paper and thin wood, then add larger logs. Tip: Pull the ash drawer under the fireplace 1 cm forward — it works like a boost! Ash in the iron bucket only. Never put hot ash in the bin.

Waste & Recycling

Yellow bag: packaging and plastic. Black bag: general waste. Bins on the kitchen side below the terrace. Full bags go to the large black collection bin at the road by the lowest house on the way to the village. Water & Laundry Tap water is pure spring water — enjoy it. Washing machine on the ground floor, use the standard programme. Wi-Fi You'll find the Wi-Fi name and password on the note in the kitchen. Emergency +49 179 5321741 — get in touch any time if you need anything.

Winter Embach ski area: walkable, drag lift, two slopes, perfect for beginners. Rauris: our favourite — great panorama, toboggan run at the Kreuzbodenklift with evening sessions. Bad weather: Gastein thermal spas (Bad Gastein, Dorf Gastein, Bad Hofgastein) — about 30 minutes away.

Summer: Swimming: Goldegger See and Zeller See. Hiking: Hocharn and Katzenköpfe from the front door, Kapelleralm hut along the way (seasonal). Via ferrata: Kitzlochklamm, 500 m from the chalet. Rafting: Taxenbach.

Nature: Seidelwinkltal, gold panning or trout fishing in Kolm Saigurn. Getting around Your Kurtaxe card (mountain card) covers all regional buses and trains — free of charge. Have a wonderful time. Enjoy the mountain air, the quiet and the view from the sun terrace.
